I'm Allison Weeks, the proud owner of Peticularly Perfect, where you'll find, Dog Training Done Right. Since 2012, we've been on a mission to empower you, the amazing dog parent, with the knowledge and skills to more fully understand and connect with your furry family member. At Peticularly Perfect, we focus on treating the root cause of behavior issues, using a blend of dog psychology and behavior modification techniques. Oh, and did I mention we offer positive-only training options too? As a mom of a teenager and two toddlers, and a proud resident of Escondido, I understand the importance of a harmonious family dynamic, which includes our fur babies. All too often things can get off track and all of a sudden that happy picture we had in our minds of the kids running in the grass with the puppy laughing and playing melts away as we hear screaming and try to get the puppy to stop jumping up and nipping at our little ones for the hundredth time that hour. You are not alone. That feeling of "What went wrong? This is not how I remember my puppy growing up!" is more common than you might think and fortunately, fixable!

At Peticularly Perfect, our outstanding reputation in the community stems from our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. Success, for us, means empowering dog owners to not only handle current situations but to feel equipped for future challenges. In other words, we are not looking to just show you how to get your dog to do some tricks. We are not looking to come and just teach your dog how to do or stop certain behaviors either. Actually, we are here to teach you. All of our training options are inundated with owner participation and learning. Dogs are pack animals and their behavior will adjust based on their surroundings. So dog training is really owner training with your dog there - surprise! You are the key. If you learn how to teach your dog to do something and how to stop your dog from doing an unwanted behavior, the door to human-canine understanding and true companionship opens! The possibilities begin to multiply and are no longer limited by a trainer's presence.
What We Do
We start with a free phone chat with one of our trainers. Typically based on where you are located or the type of training you're interested in, you can schedule a phone call with a trainer to get more information or get started. You can see bios for our trainers on our About Us page and easily book a chat from our Schedule Now tab.
Your options for training include:
Private in-home sessions where a trainer comes to you
Group training sessions that typically meet once per week and include classes like: beginner puppy class, agility, scent work, rally-o, and intermediate class
Board and Train stays where your dog stays with a trainer. We do not have a facility, so these are very personalized stays where your dog joins the family of their trainer for the duration of their stay and works daily to accomplish training goals. Owner involvement is still required though so you will learn how to maintain the skills and practice techniques at home. (Our board and train is by invitation only, so you will need the approval of a trainer to participate.)
Doggy Match-Making service where you can get the aid of one of our professional trainers to guide you through the selection of an adoptable dog or new puppy.
No matter what type of training you select, we are here to guide you every step of the way. Learning is a life-long process and that's why we love finding easy and fun ways to make training a part of every day life that you can learn and repeat at home with your pup.
Vision and Values
My vision for Peticularly Perfect is to share the invaluable insights I've gained over the past 12+ years with as many dog owners as I can. Many aspects of dog psychology are simple yet vastly different from human psychology. By imparting this knowledge, we aim to deepen the bond between dogs and their owners, making training more effective and enjoyable. With a team of dedicated dog trainers, we've created a supportive network where expertise is readily available, ensuring that every dog (and their human) receives the best training possible.
Ultimately, we value results. We want you to not just see a difference but to really feel one. That feeling when you and your pup are just loving life together. One of the best aspects of being a dog trainer is witnessing what I call "magic moments." It's those transformative instances when a dog who was once highly aggressive, severely fearful, or deemed unadoptable, crosses the threshold into trustworthiness. Witnessing these transformations is truly heartwarming, knowing that these dogs can now be a part of loving families. Not everyone believes in these moments. They think dogs can not be rehabilitated. But I've seen it time and time again and I am a true believer.
Personal Interests and Passions
Beyond dog training, I find joy in spending quality time with my family and engaging with local mom's groups. Lately, I've developed a passion for foraging, gardening, and homesteading. In my downtime, I love immersing myself in audiobooks and indulging in the occasional yoga stretch. Balancing the demands of life and business can be challenging, but I've learned valuable lessons from my canine companions about living in the moment and embracing the "wow" of the here and now.
